Our Story

Tim Nelson

Senior Pastor

Tim grew up in a Christian home and gave his life to Christ at the age of 6. However, it was his father's death when he was 10 years old that really challenged him to fully trust God with all things and ultimately led to a call to ministry later in life.

Tim graduated from Eastern Nazarene College and then Nazarene Theological Seminary and was honored to plant BridgeWay Community Church in Rockford, MI and led it for 9 years.  He then served at Ada Bible Church for four years as Director of Spiritual Formation.

Tim and his wife Mary just celebrated 23 years of marriage and are raising 4 great kids: Gabi, Isaac, Sam and Sophie.

Tim's hobbies include golf, skiing, running, games with the kids (Euchre, Settlers, Puerto Rico, Hearts, etc.), pretty much every sport and hiking mountains (when possible). He loves Scripture and enjoys relearning what it means to be a child of God living in a world that is increasingly hostile to the Church.  It is his life goal to bridge to the lost and hurting and point them to Christ, who loves all without hesitation.

Rhonda Bischoff

Children's Director

Rhonda has loved being with and teaching children for a number of years.  She believes it is important to partner with parents to help children know they can trust God no matter what.  Parents are the greatest influence in a child's life.  We basically only get one hour each week to teach a child about who God is, but parents have over 160! Everyone has a story, she encourages kids to share their story, to help someone in their everyday life come to know Jesus.

Rhonda worked for Kelloggsville Public Schools as a paraprofessional for 20 years.  She created and directed a program called "Champions" for ages 2 yrs old through 6th grade.  She has volunteered or directed a Bus Ministry, Children's Church, Family Ministry, Awana, Young Adult Class and Youth Ministry.

Rhonda's biggest supporter is her husband John. They were married in June of 1978.  Proud parents of Kim, Chris, Rich (Kelly), and Cynthia.  Three grandchildren have become a highlight in their life.  Spending time with family, walking to a favorite restaurant, "serving", golfing, and taking vacations are what they like to do together.
